NOTES

Studio notes

The dragon is drawn with round, bouncy lines — horns curled, whiskers flying — so it reads as lucky rather than fierce.

The God of Wealth rides behind on a motorbike: an old blessing in a very modern vehicle. Gold and vermilion accents keep the fan festive.

The inscription wishes the viewer prosperity in the coming dragon year; the piece was framed as a new-year keepsake.

A lucky picture should make you smile before you look twice.
